Addresses on visa forms
First identify which person's address and which period the form asks for. Use the official English Korean address and follow the receiving authority's current instructions; a convenient format is not an immigration decision.
Which address is requested?
Read the question to distinguish current residence, a mailing address and a previous or destination address before converting anything.
| Wording | What to clarify |
|---|---|
| Present / Current | Current residence |
| Mailing | Where mail is received |
| Permanent | The authority's definition |
| Previous | The requested past period |
| Address in destination country | Planned stay or contact location |
Do not substitute one address type for another because it is easier to convert. Ask the authority if the question is unclear.
How do I divide the fields?
A form may separate Line 1, optional Line 2, City, State/Province, Postal Code and Country. Others add District or County. Use the actual form's help and structured address result, not punctuation-based guessing. Select “Does Not Apply” only when the instructions allow it.
What must I review?
Check the address type, official spelling, apartment details, postal code and region dropdowns. Inspect allowed characters, length limits and the saved preview. Do not assume that a shopping format is automatically acceptable for official documents.
Country-specific instructions
The linked US DS-260 sample is an example of field layout, not a rule for every visa. The US DS-160 FAQ explains English-answer requirements and accuracy for that form. Always consult the relevant authority's current official instructions. This guide does not provide legal advice or guarantee acceptance.
